Creating a private server is a great way to avoid unwanted players joining your server.
Setting a Server Password
- Access your control panel and Stop your server.
- Navigate to Files > Config Files.
- Open Conan Exiles Server Properties.
- Locate
server_password
and set your password. - Save and Start your server.
Enabling a Whitelist
Whitelisting removes the need for having a server password by manually assigning the players that are able to connect to your server.
- Connect to your server and assign yourself as an admin.
- Within Server Settings, access the General tab.
- Scroll down and enable Only Allow Whitelisted Players To Join.
Adding Players to the Whitelist
Whilst players are connected to your server
- When connected to the server, hit escape and open the Admin Panel.
- Select Player List.
- Here, you will find a list of the current players online. Click Whitelist next to each player you wish to add to the whitelist.
Whilst players are not connected to your server
- Access your control panel.
- Navigate to Files > FTP File Access.
- Navigate to
/ConanSandbox/Saved/
and edit whitelist.txt.- If there is no whitelist.txt, you can create one in this file location.
- If there is no whitelist.txt, you can create one in this file location.
- To add a player, you are required to add their Steam64ID alongside their FuncomID.
- Example:
1234567891234:Shockbyte#1234
- For each player, ensure you add them to a new line in the file.

- Save your changes.
