How to Enable/Disable Castle Damage on your V Rising Server

There is a huge range of configuration options that affect how, when and what can damage a player's castles on your V Rising server. All of these changes can be made in your server's ServerGameSettings.json file.

Setting a Castle Damage Mode

There are three available castle damage modes:

  • Never - Player's can never deal damage to enemy castles.
  • Always - Player's can deal damage to enemy castles at any point.
  • TimeRestricted - Player's can only deal damage to enemy castles within certain predefined time frames.

It is possible to set the mode of castle damage on your V Rising server using your server's control panel. 

  1. Navigate to your control panel and Stop your server.
  2. Navigate to Files > Config Files.
  3. Click V Rising Game Settings.
  4. Locate the CastleDamageMode setting and enter your chosen type. For example: "CastleDamageMode": "Always".
  5. Click Save then Start your server.

Setting a Castle Heart Damage Mode

There are three available castle heart damage modes:

  • CanBeDestroyedOnlyWhenDecaying - Players can only destroy enemy castle hearts while they are decaying.
  • CanBeDestroyedByPlayers - Players can destroy enemy castle hearts using in-game "key" items.
  • CanBeSeizedOrDestroyedByPlayers - Player have the choice of seizing or destroying enemy castle hearts.

A castle heart damage mode can easily be set in your server's ServerGameSettings.json file.

  1. Navigate to your control panel and Stop your server.
  2. Navigate to Files > Config Files.
  3. Click V Rising Game Settings.
  4. Locate the CastleHeartDamageMode field and enter your chosen mode. For example: "CastleHeartDamageMode": "CanBeDestroyedByPlayers".
  5. Click Save and Start your server.

Configuring Time-Based Castle Damage

If you select time-based castle as your server's castle damage mode you will need to define at which times players can damage enemy castles. This can be done in your server's ServerGameSettings.json file.

  1. Navigate to your control panel and Stop your server.
  2. Navigate to Files > Config Files.
  3. Click V Rising Game Settings.
  4. Locate the VSCastleWeekdayTime and VSCastleWeekendTime settings.
  5. Using the StartHour/StartMinute settings define a time for castle damage to be enabled for both weekdays and weekends.
  6. Using the EndHour/EndMinute settings define a time for castle damage to be disabled for both weekdays and weekends.
  7. Click Save and Start your server.
