Arma 3 has Steam Workshop integration which means there are many free mods available to expand the content available on your Arma 3 server.
Locating Workshop Mod Files
If you haven't already, you will need to download your desired mods from the Steam Workshop by following this guide. After you download your desired mod(s), ensure your Arma 3 launcher is open.
- Open the Arma 3 launcher.
- Navigate to the Mods page and load your desired mod(s).
- Right-click and select open folder. For this example, we will be using Vcom AI.
- Confirm there is a folder for your new mod in this directory.
Installing Workshop Mods on your Server
Before installing Steam Workshop Mods on your Arma 3 server, you will need to have them installed locally.
Mods tagged with both "Mod" and "Server" on the workshop are server mods and should be uploaded to the /servermods/ folder, while those tagged only as "Mod" are normal mods and should be uploaded to the /mods/ folder.
- Access your server files via FTP, we recommend using Filezilla.
- Navigate to the
/mods/
or the/servermods/
directory, depending on the mod type. - Upload your desired mod folder.
- You may see something like this in your downloaded mod's folder, ensure you follow these instructions when prompted.
- Access your control panel and Restart your server.
If you followed the steps correctly, you should see your mod loaded properly in your server console as shown below.
