This article contains a compilation of guides that explain how to install any server type you wish. Want to start a new server? Discover our Modded Minecraft server hosting plans.
Before getting started, it's important to know how to set or change a server type or version for your server: How to Set / Change Server Type
The above procedure will be used for all server types listed below and will only vary which option to select on the panel based on your preference.
If you're switching from a Vanilla version of the game to a Modded version, or vice versa, we'd really recommend you start with a full server reset. This will wipe your server files entirely, so if you want to keep a copy of your existing server, you can create a backup of your server.
Don't know which modpack you want to use? Check out our list of the best modpacks of all time, all available on our modpack installer!
Important
We have a 1-click modpack installer with lots of popular modpacks on the control panel, this guide is for any modpacks or server types not on the installer. To find the installer on the Shockbyte Panel, we have a separate guide on how to use our 1-click modpack installer.
# Where is the Server Type menu located?
The Server Type menu can be found on the main overview control panel page for your server, located near the top next to Minecraft.
You can change the server type by creating a new instance as well. For guidance on how to create a new instance, click here.
