If you are looking to run a server for your friends or a small group of people you know, we recommend you make your server private. You can do this by setting a server password or enabling a whitelist. --- Setting a Server Password By default, any player can join your server if it isn’t password-protected. Having a password on your 7 Days to Die Server requires users to know and enter the password before joining. To set a password, you will need to access your server settings. If you are unsure how to edit your 7 Days to Die server settings, you can check out our guide on this here. Update the ServerPassword setting to the desired password. Once your server restarts, all users will be required to enter the specified password you set before joining. --- Enabling a Server Whitelist A whitelist allows you to manually add players who can join your server. When creating a whitelist, you’ll need each player’s Steam64ID who wishes to join. Anyone else will be unable to join your server. To find a player's SteamID, check out our guide here. 1. Open your Server Control Panel and navigate to the Files tab. 2. Enter the directory , locate and open the file called . 3. In the same file, locate the section . The section will be inside of it. 4. For each user you want to whitelist, add a line <user steamID="YourSteam64ID"/, replacing YourSteam64ID with the player’s SteamID64. In the end, your code should look like the following: If you want to disable the whitelist later on, you can simply remove all users from the whitelist section. 5. Save the file and then Restart your server for the changes to take effect.
How to Join Your 7 Days to Die Server
How to find your Server IP To join your 7 Days to Die Server, you’ll need to find your Server’s IP address: 1. Login to your Control Panel. 2. Copy the numbers in the IP Address field. Make sure to copy both the IP and the port. ::ProseNote{title="Important" description="Make sure to restart your server to ensure it is online and up-to-date." appearance="default"} :: --- Connecting to Your 7 Days to Die Server Directly You can connect to your server directly in the game using the server IP address. 1. Select Join a Game in the main menu. 2. Click Connect to IP. 3. Enter the IP and port in the allocated boxes. Everything before the colon (:) is the IP, while everything after it is the port. You can find previously joined servers by clicking the temple icon. You can add your server to your favourites by clicking the star. This allows you to enter your server more easily in the future! It is also possible to find your server by typing its name in the search box. You can find your server's name by navigating to the Config tab on your control panel, clicking the 7D2D Server Settings file and locating the ServerName setting.
How to Install and Configure Alloc's and CPM on Your 7 Days to Die Server
Alloc's Server Fixes are a group of mods for your 7 Days to Die Server that add extra functionality to your server such as: An interactive world map. An API that you can use for other mods like CSMM and logging. New commands such as give, listitems listknownplayers, showinventory. --- Installing And Configuring Alloc's As Alloc's Server Fixes is a server-side only mod, therefore you will not need to install this on your own PC. 1. Download the latest version of Alloc's via their official website. 2. Once downloaded, unzip the file to retrieve the mod folder containing subdirectories for Alloc's. 3. Navigate to your Server Control Panel, then Shut down the server, and open the "Files" tab. 4. Upload the mod folders to your server's mod folder. You should now find Alloc's XML files at the path In total, there should be 3 subdirectories under 5. Navigate to the Files tab again and locate the serverconfig.xml file. 6. Depending on if you are installing Alloc's or Allocs and CPM, follow the next step: If you are only installing Alloc's: Locate the line ControlPanelPort and change its value from 8080 to an unused additional port allocated to your server - 2 (e.g. If your additional port 5366, you need to set the ControlPanelPort to the following ). If you wish to install both Alloc's and CPM: Submit a support ticket requesting 2 sequential ports. Afterwards, locate the line ControlPanelPort and change its value from 8080 to the port mentioned by the Support Agent answering your ticket. 7. Go back to your main file directory. 8. Navigate to the saves directory and modify webpermissions.xml by adding your SteamID similar to serveradmin.xml (E.g. ). 9. Restart your server and wait for the webpage to respond. --- Installing And Configuring CPM CPM is a fork of Coppi's Mod which adds new features like Claim Creator, WebUI, AntiCheat, Sleeper control, Trading system, Chatcoloring and more. 1. Before proceeding, CPM requires Alloc's to be installed, therefore make sure that your control panel of Alloc's is working before continuing these steps. 2. Download the latest version of CPM via their official website. 3. Download the latest version of CPM and unzip the file. 4. Stop your server and navigate to your server files. 5. Upload the folder 1CSMM\Patrons to your server's mods directory and override any files if needed. The folder should contain the file ModInfo.xml and others. 6. Navigate to the Files tab again and locate the serverconfig.xml file. 7. CPM requires the next possible port after Alloc's. If you haven't already, submit a support ticket requesting 2 sequential ports. Afterwards, locate the line ControlPanelPort and change its value from 8080 to the port mentioned by the Support Agent answering your ticket. 8. Go back to your main file directory. 9. You can now adjust the config of CPM by navigating to the saves directory and modifying CpmSettings.xml. 10. Restart your server and wait for the webpage to respond.
How to Install Mods on Your 7 Days to Die Server
From adding new blocks to changing the core mechanics, mods are a wonderful way to improve your experience while playing 7 Days to Die. Mods are supported natively and as such, installation is very simple on both your client and your server. This guide will walk you through installing mods onto both. --- Downloading your Mods You can download a mod from a website like 7daystodiemods.com. 1. Locate and download the mod that you would like to install. We recommend using 7daystodiemods.com to do this. Ensure that you are downloading a mod for the correct version of the game! 2. Once downloaded, unzip the file to retrieve the mod folder containing the file. --- Installing Mods Locally Before you can connect to your modded server, you will need to install the mods locally. 1. Close 7 Days to Die if it is running. 2. Locate your 7 Days to Die game files. You can do this by right-clicking the game in your Steam Library and pressing Manage Browse local files. 3. Create a folder called if it does not exist, and enter that directory. 4. Copy your previously-extracted mod folder into this Mods folder. Your file should be located at . How to Create a Randomly Generated World on your 7 Days to Die Server

How to Enable Cheats on Your 7 Days to Die Server
To manage your server in-game, you'll need to have access to admin rights. A server administrator can kick and ban players from the server. ServerWebsiteURL The ServerWebsiteUrl property allows you to add a clickable Website URL link under the server description. ServerPassword The ServerPassword property allows you to add a password to secure your server, preventing random people from joining.
