Hosting your own SCP Secret Laboratory server gives you full control of your facility. With Shockbyte, getting started only takes a few steps. How to Set & Customise your SCP: Secret Laboratory Server Name
In the SCP: Secret Laboratory server list, a server's name is the form of identification that can be used to help players find a server. Using Hex Codes allows you to change the colours of characters in your server name. The characters can be changed individually, as a word, or as the whole name the choice is up to you. Hex Codes are values for identifying colours in a hexadecimal format, with a mixture of numbers and letters. Setting a Server Name To set a server name, you will have to access the SCP Server Settings section of your control panel. 1. Access your control panel and Stop your server. 2. Navigate to the Config tab and locate the Server Name option. Enter your desired server name. 3. Click Save and restart your server for the changes to go through. Adding Custom Colours To start adding colours to your server name, you will first need to get the hex codes of those colours. Navigate to this HTML Colour code generator and pick your colours. How to Join Your SCP: Secret Laboratory Server
Once you have finished configuring your SCP: Secret Laboratory server, you can start your server for players to connect and play. SCP allows players to connect via direct connection or via the in-game server list. Finding Your Server's IP To join your SCP: Secret Laboratory Server directly, you'll first need to find your Server's IP address: 1. Log in to your control panel. 2. Find your Server Address and copy both the IP and the Port. Using Direct Connect Once you have your server's IP and port you're able to connect to your server directly. 1. How to Install EXILED Plugins on Your SCP: Secret Laboratory Server
SCP: Secret Laboratory servers can use various server-sided plugins to add things such as Discord integration or even modify core gameplay elements. Download the latest Exiled.tar.gz release from the EXILED GitHub. 2. Using WinRAR/7Zip, extract the downloaded file to a memorable location such as your desktop. --- Installing EXILED on your SCP Server Now that you have the necessary files prepared, you can upload them to the required directory on your server. 1. Access your control panel and Stop your server. 2. Navigate to Config. 3. Click SCP: Secret Laboratory Server Settings. 4. Set Steam Updates to Disabled, and click Save. 5.
