How to Set your Vintage Story Server to Private

Setting a Vintage Story server to private allows server owners to restrict access to select players and prevent uninvited players from joining and disrupting others.

Currently, server owners have the option of either hiding the server from the public server list or adding a password to their server.

Setting your Server to Private

You can add a password, or hide your server from the server list in the Vintage Story Server Settings section of your control panel.

  1. Access your control panel and Stop your server.
  2. Navigate to Files > Config Files.
  3. Click Vintage Story Server Settings.
  4. To set a password, enter a password in the Server Password field.
  5. To hide your server, set Display on Server List to Disabled.

Important: If you choose this method, you will need to direct connect to your server.
  6. Save and Start your server.
