How to Change Your Game Difficulty on your Unturned Server

For games like Unturned where the primary objective is to survive, a server is defined by its difficulty. Unturned has 3 difficulties for servers: EasyMedium, and Hard.

Higher difficulties make survival more challenging by decreasing loot frequency, increasing zombie spawns, increasing respawns, changing game mechanics, and so much more!

NOTE: These settings are set per-world. This means that if you change your world name, you will need to change your server settings again for the new world. If you have multiple worlds on your server, ensure that you select the config file for the correct world.

Changing Your Server Difficulty

  1. Log in to your server control panel and Stop your server.
  2. Navigate to Files > Config Files.
  3. Click Unturned Commands File.
  4. Add a new line in the file and enter mode <difficulty> replacing <difficulty> with Easy, Medium, or Hard.
  5. Click Save and Restart your server.
