Setting a custom Server Name and message of the day is a great way to customise your Squad server. Your Server Name will also be used by players to identify your server in the Server Browser.
Setting A Server Name
Your Server Name is set in your server's squad.properties file and can be easily updated using your server's control panel.
- Access your control panel, and Stop your server.
- Navigate to Files > Config Files.
- Click Squad Server Settings.
- Locate the Server Name field and enter your desired name.
- Save and Start your server.
Setting Your Server's MOTD
Your server's MOTD is displayed in a small text box to players when they join your Squad server. It is usually used to display server info, rules or community updates.
- Access your control panel, and Stop your server.
- Navigate to Files > Config Files.
- Click MOTD.cfg.
- Enter a MOTD. Up to two HTML tags can be used.
- Click the Save button and Start the server.
