If you want to prevent unwanted players joining your Squad server you may wish to set it private. The most effective way of achieving this is by adding a password to your server, which players will be prompted to enter before they can connect.
Setting a Server Password
You can easily set a password in your server's squad.properties
file.
- Navigate to your control panel and Stop your server.
- Navigate to Files > Config Files.
- Open Squad Server Settings.
- Enter a password in the Server Password field.
- Click Save and Start the server.
Hiding Your Squad Server
If you don't want to set a password for your server you can also remove it from the server list. You should note that this will restrict your ability to connect to the server, as it's not currently possible to directly connect.
- Navigate to your control panel and Stop your server.
- Navigate to Files > Config Files.
- Open Squad Server Settings.
- Set Visible On Server List to Disabled.
- Click Save and Start your server.
