How To Configure Your Conan Exiles Server

Configuration can be a great way to personalise, improve, or bring variety to your Conan Exiles server. This article will explain where to find each of configuration file, what they achieve, and how to use them.

Important: When configuring your server, always ensure you Stop your server before making any changes.

Using the In-Game Server Configuration

This makes changes instantly in-game that then updates the ServerSettings.ini file without having to restart your server.

The conan-exiles.properties file allows for a very basic level of server configuration. Mainly allowing for server management, rather than gameplay changes.

Using the ServerSettings.ini File

The file ServerSettings.ini allows for a more in-depth, gameplay-focused way to configure your server. In this file you can change settings specified for; Survival, Combat, Crafting, XP Multipliers and more.

Configuration

  • Via control panel: Files > Config Files > Conan Exiles Configuration Settings
  • Via FTP: ConanSandbox/Saved/Config/WindowsServer/ServerSettings.ini

There are too many settings found in ServerSettings.ini to cover in this article, however, the Conan Exiles wiki does a great job at explaining them all individually.
