FTP: 530 Authentication Failed Error
If you are encountering the error when accessing your server files via an FTP client such as FileZilla, it means that you are using an incorrect username or password. In order to successfully access your server files, you can follow these tips: Ensure that you are using the correct username. Your FTP username can be found on the control panel under Files SFTP Connect. Please ensure that you enter the username exactly as it appears as there is a set of numbers at the end of the username that must be included. Note that the username is different for each server. Ensure that you are using the correct password. Your FTP password is the same as your Server Control Panel password. Make sure that there are no spaces before or after the username and password. If you are copying and pasting the details in, try entering them manually (and vice versa). You can also try resetting your Server Control Panel password by following our guide. Ensure that you enter the correct information in the appropriate locations. Open your server's Control Panel. 2. On the left-hand sidebar, click the Backups tab. 3. Click the three dots next to the Download button next to your most recent backup. When selecting a backup to use as a restoration point, make sure you select the most recent backup generated before the data loss you experienced. 4. Click the Restore button and accept the confirmation. After a few moments, your backup will be restored, and you will be able to use your server again.

Navigate to the Shockbyte Panel and open your server panel. 2. Click the Console tab to open your server console 3. Click the Errors tab to only show any errors your server log has printed 4. Now you can read and investigate any errors your console may have printed. You can click the arrow icon next to the error log to view where the line occurred in the normal console logs.
How to Find and Fix JSON Config Errors
JSON (JavaScript Object Notation) is a strict data format used by many game servers for configuration files. Even a single missing comma or unclosed quote will break the file structure, preventing your server from loading settings properly or causing it to crash on boot. The root .json files (whitelist, bans, ops) often cause this error. You can delete them and restart your server to regenerate fresh files for a quick fix, but this will reset your lists. Moving forward, use console commands to manage these settings (it's usually not recommended to edit files directly). --- Using the Built-in Control Panel Validation Our built-in text editor automatically validates your .json files in real time as you edit. 1. When an error notification appears, click Jump to Section in the bottom-right banner. 2. The editor will automatically scroll to and highlight the exact line containing the error. 3. Look for a red wavy line under the broken code or a red indicator marker on the right. 4. Hover your cursor over the highlighted area to view the error breakdown (The example below shows a basic missing at the end of the player name Steve). --- Common JSON Formatting Mistakes 1. Trailing Commas Commas are used to separate items in an array or properties in an object. Missing Commas Between Entries Every entry in a JSON block must end with a comma, except the final item before a closing bracket } or ]. - Correct JSON { "Difficulty": "Hard", "PvP": true } - Incorrect JSON { "Difficulty": "Hard" "PvP": true } 3. Unmatched Quotes or Brackets Every structural symbol must have a corresponding pair: - Opening braces need matching closing braces . - Opening square brackets need matching closing brackets . - Keys and string values must use double quotes (). Single quotes () are invalid in JSON. 4. Formatting Values (Booleans, Numbers, Strings) - Strings (Text): Must always be wrapped in double quotes (e.g., ). - Numbers: Must not be wrapped in quotes (e.g., , not ). - Booleans (True/False): Must be lowercase with no quotes (e.g., or ). --- External Troubleshooting Tools If you are having trouble isolating a syntax error inside the panel, an easy and effective way to locate and fix issues with your JSON code is by using an online JSON validator tool. 1. Open an online JSON validator tool, like this one. 2. Paste your JSON code into the input box. When you paste your code, the website will automatically fix and format any simple spacing errors it finds. If your JSON still has any errors in it, the line(s) containing the issue(s) will be highlighted red, making it easy to spot the problems. 3. Locate and fix any remaining errors. If there are any other errors detected, the website will point them out to you in notes below the input window.
