How to Install Mods on your Insurgency Sandstorm Server

Insurgency: Sandstorm server owners have a wide range of mods to choose from, including extra weapons and complete overhauls. Modding is an excellent way for servers to increase available content and provide a more unique experience for players.

Many mods can be found on mod.io and can be automatically installed onto your Shockbyte Insurgency: Sandstorm servers using the mod's Resource ID.


Generating a Mod.io Token

Before installing any Insurgency: Sandstorm mods, you must generate and add a Mod.io Token to your server.

  1. Navigate to your Mod.io account page here.
  2. Click Access.
  3. Enter a Token name, ensure that the permissions dropdown is set to Read + Write and then click the add(+) button.
  4. Copy your Token.
  5. Access your control panel and Stop your server.
  6. Navigate to Files > Config Files.
  7. Click Insurgency Sandstorm Server Settings.
  8. Paste your Token in the Mod.io Token field.
  9. Save and Start your server.

Locating Resource IDs

Before installing an Insurgency: Sandstorm mod, you must locate the mod's page and copy its Resource ID.

  1. Navigate to the Insurgency: Sandstorm Mod.io page here.
  2. Locate and click your desired mod. For this example, we'll be using Medicon.
  3. Copy the Resource ID.

Installing Mods

Once you have your desired mods resource ID, you must add them to your Insurgency Sandstorm Server Settings file using your server's control panel.

  1. Access your control panel and Stop your server.
  2. Navigate to Files > Config Files.
  3. Click Insurgency Sandstorm Server Settings.
  4. Enter your desired mods resource ID, separated by commas in the Mod List field.
  5. Save and Start your server.
