Custom Maps are a great way for server owners to differentiate from the average Insurgency: Sandstorm server and provide a unique experience for players.
Important: Before you can configure and use a custom map in your Insurgency Sandstorm server, you need to install the map as a mod on your server. Refer to this article for detailed instructions on how to do this.
Configuring Custom Maps
As custom maps are still technically mods, you will need to install them by following our mod installation guide, and then configure your desired map into your map cycle.
- Navigate to your desired custom map's Mod.io page.
- Look for and copy your desired scenario type on the mod page's description.
- Also, take note of the official map name usually found just after the
Scenario_part of the scenario name.
- Access your control panel and Stop your server.
- Navigate to Files > Config Files.
- Click Insurgency Sandstorm Server Settings.
- Set the Starting Map field to the custom map's name you noted earlier.
- Set the Scenario field to the scenario type you copied earlier from step 2 (or add it to your map cycle).
- Save and Start your server.
