How to Apply a GSLT Token to your Counter Strike: Source Server

Although not required, it is possible to add a GSLT Token to your Counter Strike: Source server.

WHY GSLT KEYS ARE RECOMMENDED

Many games require you to have what is known as a Game Server Login Token to run your server. This is done to ensure that servers are created by real people and to hold accountability to the owner if those servers violate the game's Server's Terms of Service.

In order to be able to generate a GSLT, you must have a Steam account which:

If your server is found to be breaking Valve's ToS, the server and your linked Steam account may be banned by Valve.

HOW TO GET A GSLT KEY

  1. First, make sure that you are logged into the Steam Community website.
  2. Navigate to Steam Game Servers Account.
  3. At the bottom of the page, fill out the App ID for CS:S which is 240.
  4. Add a memo or note if you want, and click Create.
  5. Your GSLT key is the Login Token that will appear.

HOW TO ADD YOUR GSLT KEY

  1. Access your control panel and Stop your server.
  2. Navigate to Files > Config Files.
  3. Click Counter Strike: Source Server Settings.
  4. Add your key to the Steam GSLT Token option.
  5. Save and Start your server.
