How to Switch Counter Strike Client from CS2 to CS:GO

As Counter Strike 2 was released as an update to Counter Strike: Global Offensive, they aren't displayed individually in Steam. Therefore, you have to switch your Counter Strike client to change between the two. With the release of Counter Strike 2 this may be inconvenient for those that still wish to play on their CSGO community servers.

Switching from CS2 to CSGO

To switch to CSGO you must select the demo viewer beta found in Steam.

  1. Open Steam and locate Counter-Strike 2 in your games library.
  2. Right-click it, and navigate to Properties.
  3. Click betas and select csgo_demo_viewer.
  4. Close properties, and your game will switch to CSGO. This will require you to download an update.
