How to Change Your CS:GO Server Tags

In order to allow players to search for your server via the community server list, you will need to enable tags. Tags are what players search for in the search bar. Without any, it is impossible to find your server in the server listings.

Info: In order for your server to appear in community listings, host_info_show and host_players_show must be set to 1 or higher in your CSGO Server Settings, the config file. Additionally, your server name will not be used for search results.

  1. Login to your server's control panel.
  2. On the left-hand side, click Files Config Files.
  3. Open CSGO Server.cfg configuration file.
  4. Add the new line sv_tags="[tag1], [tag2], [tag3]".
  5. There are a few key points to note when adding tags:
    • Try to avoid having too many. If you do, none of them will work!
    • Tags can be multiple words, but avoid making them too long.
  6. Once you have added your tags, press Save at the bottom of the page.
  7. Restart your server!
