How to Change Your CS:GO Server Tags

In order to allow players to search for your server via the community server list, you will need to configure tags.

Tags are what players search for in the search bar. Without any, it is impossible to find your server in the server listings.

Important: The config options host_info_show and host_players_show must be set to 1 or higher in your CSGO Server Settings to appear on the community server listings.

Adding Tags to your Server

To have tags on your server, you will need to define them in your CSGO server.cfg config file.

Keep in mind that having too many tags may break tags entirely on your server. Additionally, tags can be multiple words, tags are separated by commas.

  1. Access your control panel and Stop your server.
  2. Navigate to Files > Config Files.
  3. Open the CSGO server.cfg file.
  4. On a new line, enter sv_tags "[tag1], [tag2], [tag3]".
  5. Save and Start your server.
