How to Change the Map of Your CS:GO Server

This guide will assist you with changing your map to any map in the game.

Before we start, it's important to note that which maps you can run on your server is determined by your Game Type and Game Mode - that means you can't play a Danger Zone map on a competitive server. If you need help setting your Game Type and Game Mode, then check out our guide on How to Change the Gamemode of your CS:GO server.

You can view a list of all available maps, as well as the gamemodes that they are available on, here.
You will need the map code in order to change the map.

HOW TO CHANGE THE EXISTING MAP

If you want to temporarily change the server map to a new one, there are 2 ways to do it.

IN-GAME MAP VOTE

You can call a map vote in-game so that everyone online can vote for the new map. Whichever map gets the most votes is selected (if there is 1 player online, the vote always passes).

  1. While connected to the server, press the escape key to bring up the menu.
  2. Press the Call Vote icon on the right-hand side.
  3. Select Change Map....
  4. Select the map you want to start a vote for.
  5. If the vote succeeds, the map will instantly change to the voted map, regardless of the current game state.

CONSOLE MAP CHANGE

This will instantly change the server map to the map specified, regardless of the current game state.

  1. On your control panel console, enter the command changelevel [Map Code].

HOW TO CHANGE THE DEFAULT MAP

  1. Login to your server's control panel.
  2. On the left-hand side, click Files Config Files.
  3. Open CSGO Server Settings.
  4. Change the Map option to the Map Code of the map you want.
  5. Press the save button at the bottom of the page and then restart your server.
