How to Add Plugins to Your CS:GO server

Plugins are a great way to spice up your CS:GO server. From adding new items or bots to adding whole new maps - they can change the way you play the game. Thankfully, installing plugins is easy and pretty straightforward.

Before you can install plugins, you need to make sure that you have installed both SourceMod and MetaMod onto your server. Check out our guide on How to Add SourceMod and MetaMod to your CS:GO server for further instructions.

Before you can upload the plugin to your server, you will need to find and download it. You may search for plugins for SourceMod and MetaMod on the following forums:

Caution: SourceMod & MetaMod can be installed for a number of games. When installing plugins, ensure that they are for CS:GO, and not for other games!

  1. Login to your server via the FTP. We recommend you use FileZilla.
  2. Open the csgo/addons/sourcemod/plugins/ folder.
  3. Upload your plugins to this folder in the form of a .smx file. Sometimes you will need to extract the downloaded zip file to make sure you upload the correct file.
  4. Restart your server.
