How to Install a Steam Beta on your Rust Server

There may be a time when you want to host a beta version of Rust on your Shockbyte server.

Please be aware that the beta versions often have unfixed bugs that may cause issues with your Rust server.

Installing Beta Versions of Rust

A beta version of Rust can easily be enabled in your server's rust.properties file.

  1. Access your control panel and Stop your server.
  2. Navigate to Files > Config Files.
  3. Select Rust Server Settings.
  4. Enter your chosen beta in the steam_beta field.
  5. Click Save and Start your server.

If you would like any additional information or have more questions about configuring your Rust server, you can find our other Knowledgebase articles here.
