How to Configure your The Forest Server

Most of The Forest's server settings are located inside The Forest Server Settings on your server's control panel. It is possible to update settings such as your server's Password, Tree Regrowth, Vegan mode and more!

Note: Before making any changes to your server config, ensure that you Stop your server & Start it once the change have been made.

Accessing your Server Settings

Your primary server settings can easily be accessed using the Files > Config Files section of your server's control panel.

  1. Access your control panel.
  2. Navigate to Files > Config Files.
  3. Open The Forest Server Settings.

Configuring your Server Settings

Once you have access to your server settings, you can make any required changes. The table below lists all of the available server settings.

Option Default Value Description
Automatic Steam Updates Enabled

Controls if your server will automatically update alongside Steam updates.

Server Name A Shockbyte The Forest Server

Sets the name on the server displayed

Server Token   Assigns a GSLT token to the server.
Server Password   Sets a password to connect to your server
Admin Password   Sets an Admin password to connect as an Admin
Difficulty Normal Sets a difficulty to your server
Save Slot 1 Sets the active save of your server
Auto Save Interval (In Minutes) 15 Sets the auto-save interval. 15 minutes is the minimum available.
Valve Anti Cheat Enabled Enables/Disables Valve Anti-cheat
Vegan Mode Disabled Sets Vegan mode active on your server
Vegetarian Mode Disabled Sets vegetarian mode active on your server
Reset Holes Mode Disabled Resets all existing floor holes when loading a save
Tree Regrowth Mode Disabled Enables tree regrowth when sleeping
No Building Destruction Disabled enemies and players cannot destroy buildings
Allow Enemies on Creative Mode Disabled Enables enemy spawn in creative games
Allow Cheats Disabled Allow players to use the built-in development console
Realistic Player Damage Disabled Enables realistic player damage
