By default, your rental Mordhau dedicated server will only run the Free-For-All game mode on the "The Pit" map. Changing your server map and game mode is essentially the same thing as all maps have a prefix for the game mode they are used for. Fortunately, Shockbyte offers configuration options that allow server owners to change their Mordhau server's default game mode and map quickly.

Changing your Server's Active Map/GameMode
After finding your desired map and game mode name, you can use it to change your server's default map/game mode using your server's control panel.
- Find your desired map name and game mode in this list; then copy it.
- Access your control panel and Stop your server.
- Navigate to Files > Config Files.
- Click MORDHAU Server Settings.
- In the Server Map field, enter your desired starting map name.
- Save and Start your server.
