Modding is a great way for server owners to expand the amount of content available, or improve the quality of life on their Necesse game server.
Most Necesse mods can be found on the Necesse Steam Workshop. Thankfully, Shockbyte offers full Steam Workshop support. As a result, to install them all you will need is the mod's Workshop ID. It is also possible to install complete Steam Workshop Collections of Necesse mods.
Locating Workshop IDs
Before you can install a Steam Workshop mod, you will need to locate the mod's Workshop page and copy its Workshop ID.
- Navigate to the Necesse Steam Workshop.
- Locate and select your desired mod.
- Copy the mod ID in the URL of the web page (the numbers after
id=
).
Installing Workshop Mods
Once you have your desired mod IDs, you will need to add them to your Necesse Server Settings to automatically install them.
- Access your control panel and Stop your server.
- Navigate to Files > Config Files.
- Click Necesse Server Settings.
- In the Workshop Mods field, enter your desired mod IDs (separated by commas).
- Save and Start your server.
Installing External Mods
If you'd like to install a mod jar file, whether it came from the Steam Workshop or not, you can do so by uploading it to your mods folder and restarting your server.
- Navigate to your control panel and Stop your server.
- Access your server files via FTP, we recommend using Filezilla.
- Navigate to the
/mods
directory. - Upload your desired mod.jar file.
- Start your server.
