Modding is a great way for server owners to expand the amount of content available, or improve the quality of life on their Mordhau game server.
Most Mordhau mods can be found on mod.io and can be automatically installed onto Mordhau servers using configuration scripts. Thankfully, Shockbyte offers an even easier way to change these configuration options. As a result, to install mods, all you will need is the mod's Resource ID.
Locating Resource IDs
Before you can install a Mordhau mod.io mod, you will need to locate the mod's page and copy its Resource ID.
- Navigate to the Mordhau mod.io page.
- Locate and select your desired mod.
- Copy the Resource ID.
Automatically Downloading Mods
Once you have your desired resource IDs, you will need to add them to your MORDHAU Server Settings to automatically download them.
- Access your control panel and Stop your server.
- Navigate to Files > Config Files.
- Click MORDHAU Server Settings.
- In the Active Mods field, enter your desired mod IDs (separated by commas); Click Save.
- Save and Start your server.
Checking for Additional Steps
Some mods may require further configuration before the mod installation can be completed. Not every mod requires extra configuration, but for those that do, you can find them in the mod's mod.io page description. We will be using the Mordnite Dance Emotes mod as an example.
In this example, the Mordnite mod requires us to add an extra line to our Game.ini MordhauGameMode section.
- Check your desired mod's mod.io page for any extra installation steps. These could be any extra configuration changes that don't relate to configuring the mod ID
- Access your control panel and Stop your server.
- Navigate to Files > Config Files.
- Click Game.ini.
- Locate the MordhauGameMode section.
- Under the section header, paste the config field provided by the mod.
- Save and Start your server.
