How to Configure your Eco Server

A key feature of Eco dedicated servers is the level of configuration offered for many of the game features. Allowing server owners to completely customise their experience.

Although there are many configuration files available in your control panel config page, many common settings can be changed in your Eco Server Settings file.

Important: Before making any changes to your server config, ensure that you Stop your server & Start it once the change has been made.

Accessing your Eco Server Settings

Your primary server settings can easily be accessed using the Eco Server Settings file located on the config page in your server's control panel.

  1. Access your control panel and Stop your server.
  2. Navigate to Files > Config Files.
  3. Click Eco Server Settings.

Configuring your Server Settings

Once you have access to your server settings, you can make any required changes. The table below lists all of the available server settings.

Option Description
Steam Updates Enable or disable automatic steam updates and file validation on server startup.
Steam Beta (Optional) Enter the beta branch name of your desired Eco server Steam beta.
World Name The name of the world that should be active on server startup. You can change this field and restart your server to generate a new world.
Server Name Sets the name on the server browser list.
Server Password Sets a password to connect to your server.
Server Description Sets the description on the server browser list.
Server Category Sets the server category on the server browser list.
Max Players Sets the maximum amount of players on your server.
Public Server Enable or disable server visibility on the in-game server browser.
RCON Password Sets a password for players to connect to RCON and use administrative abilities.
Discord Invite Address Provide an invite link to your Discord community server in-game.
Enable Meteor Impact Enable or disable the presence of a meteor for the next generated world.
Meteor Impact Days Configure the number of days before the meteor will make contact with the world for the next generated world. This requires meteor impact to be enabled.
Reserved Slots Configure how many player slots should be reserved for VIP players. This cannot be equal to your max player slot configuration option.
Reserved Players List A list of player names who can utilise the reserved slots separated by commas (ex: Name1,Name2,Name3).
Whitelisted Players List Players with permission to join the server while the whitelist is enabled, separated by commas (ex: Name1,Name2,Name3). If any names are in this field, the whitelist will automatically be enabled.
Admin List (SteamID64) A list of SteamID64's of players who will be granted administrator permissions in-game, separated by commas (ex: SteamID64,SteamID64,SteamID64).
