How to Enable Gamma on your ARK Server

Gamma is a visual setting used to alter the brightness of your ARK game. By default, gamma changes are disabled on Ark servers. Server owners can alter their server settings to allow players to set their own gamma levels making it easier to see on dark days/nights.

Enabling Gamma

You can enable the Gamma setting in your GameUserSettings.ini file, found on your server's control panel.

  1. Access your control panel and Stop your server.
  2. Navigate to Files > Config Files.
  3. Click GameUserSettings.ini.
  4. Under [ServerSettings], insert the following options.
    DisablePvEGamma=false
    EnablePvPGamma=true

  5. Save and Start your server.
