How to Install Fabric Mods on Your Minecraft Server

Fabric is a server type that allows you to install mods to Minecraft. By learning to install mods, you can enhance the Minecraft experience by installing additional mods to a modpack, or play a basic version of Minecraft with just a couple of mods installed.

If you'd rather install an entire Fabric modpack, please refer to this knowledgebase article.

Important: Before you can install Fabric mods on your server, you must install Fabric on your server by following this guide.

Installing Fabric Mods

To install mods on your Minecraft Fabric server, you must download your desired mod's jar file and then upload it to your server's mods folder.

  1. Download your desired Fabric mod from CurseForge.
  2. Access your server files via FTP, we recommend using FileZilla.
  3. Navigate to the /mods directory.
  4. Upload the mod.jar file.
  5. Access your control panel and Restart your server.

Some Fabric mods will require installation on both the client and the server. You can find more information on installing Fabric on your client here.
