How to Reset Your Terraria Server World

If you want to start over with a brand new world for your Terraria server, you can easily do this by resetting your server's world.

Method 1: Deleting the World File (Recommended)

  1. Login to your control panel and stop your server.
  2. Login to your server's FTP using a program such as FileZilla. If you need assistance with this, check out our handy guide here:
  3. Open your /worlds/ folder.
  4. Delete the file world.wld. Depending on your world name, this file will be named differently, but always <worldname>.wld.
  5. Restart your server.

Method 2: Changing the World Name

  1. Login to your control panel and stop your server.
  2. Navigate to FilesConfig Files.
  3. On the Config Files page, select Terraria Server Settings.
  4. On the list of different options, change the World Name to a new value.
  5. Press Save at the bottom of the page.
  6. Restart your server.

And that's it! A new world will be generated for you the next time your server starts.
