You may have a particular BepInEx mod or modpack that you would like to use on your Risk of Rain 2 dedicated server. Fortunately, Shockbyte servers support Risk of Rain 2 BepInEx modding.
Note: Mods tagged as server-side should never be installed on your game client, and vice versa; Mods tagged as client-side should never be installed on your server.
Installing Mods on your Client
If you are using the Thunderstore Mod Loader client, you can follow these steps to install mods on your local client.
- Open the Thunderstore Mod Loader client.
- On the game tab, Search for and select Risk of Rain 2.
- Click Steam and then Select platform.
- Click Create new, enter a profile name, and click Create.
- Click your profile name then click Select profile.
- Click the Online tab and find your desired mod.
- Select your desired mod then click Download.
- Select the required version, then click Download with dependencies.
- Click Start Modded to launch the game with your installed mods.
After you click Start modded, your game will launch with your new mods.
Installing Mods on your Client Manually
If you have manually installed BepInEx on your local client, you will need to manually place the mods inside your client's plugins folder.
- Open Steam and Navigate to your Library.
- Right Click Risk of Rain 2 and navigate to Manage > Browse local files.
- Navigate to BepInExPack > BepInEx > Plugins.
- Copy your mod folders here.
- Your done! Your game will now launch with your installed mods.
