The meteor in Eco is an ever-present hazard that introduces a sense of urgency forcing players to work together against the clock to become advanced enough to stop it.
Some server owners may not want the meteor rushing players, especially in long-term servers. Some players might just want to relax and progress at their own pace. Eco server admins can disable or despawn the meteor on their Eco world using commands or configurations.
Enabling/Disabling the Meteor
If you plan on generating a new world it is possible to disable the Meteor using the Enable Meteor Impact option in your Eco Server Settings.
- Access your control panel and Stop your server.
- Navigate to Files > Config Files.
- Click Eco Server Settings.
- Set the Enable Meteor Impact field to Enabled/Disabled.
- Change your World Name field to generate a new world on server startup.
- Save and Start your server.
Despawning the Meteor
If you would like to remove the Meteor from an existing world, you can do so by despawning the Meteor while logged in with admin permissions.
- Login to your server as an admin.
- Press the Enter key on your keyboard to open chat.
- Type the command
/meteor destroy
.
Respawning the Meteor
Should you wish to spawn a new meteor on a world where the original one was never spawned, or despawned later on, you can do so by using the proper in-game admin command.
- Login to your server as an admin.
- Press the Enter key on your keyboard to open chat.
- Type the command
/meteor spawn
.
