How to Use Admin Commands on your Don't Starve Together Server

Don't Starve Together dedicated servers provide a wide range of commands for server administrators to use which have various effects on the game session and players in it.

Important: Before you can send any admin commands to your in-game console, you must ensure you have admin permissions on the server. You can give admin permissions to another user by following this guide.

Using Admin Commands

Don't Starve Together server admins can use commands by using the in-game developer console.

  1. Open the in-game developer console by pressing the ~ key (To the left of the 1 key).
  2. Make sure your console is set to Remote mode to send commands to the server. If your console is set to Local mode, press CTRL on your keyboard to swap modes.
  3. Enter and send your desired command.

Common Admin Commands

Although there are dozens of admin commands available to Don't Starve Together serve admins, there is a handful that a commonly used and all DST server owners should be aware of.

Command Alternate Command Description
c_godmode() c_supergodmode()

Toggles god mode. God mode makes you invincible, unable to receive damage.

You can use c_supergodmode() as an alternative which is the same as normal god mode but also sets all your stats to full, even when turning it off.

c_listallplayers()
 

Lists all players with username and player number.

The c_listallplayers() command does not seem to work well anymore, if you have issues with the command, use the alternate command to print the player list into chat.

c_despawn(AllPlayers[])
 

Despawn a player's character and return them to the selection screen to pick a new one.

Make sure you replace PLAYER NUMBER with the player number associated with the player, you'd like to despawn. You can get a list of connected players and their player numbers by using the c_listallplayers() command (or its alternate command) shown above.
