How to Install Minecraft Forge Mods on Your Windows PC

For users running Forge/modded servers, it is important to remember that mods must be installed on both your server and your PC to connect successfully. This guide outlines how to install your chosen mods locally on your Windows PC.

How to Install Mods on Your PC

  1. Firstly, make sure that you have Forge installed both on your server and your PC.
  2. Once Forge has been installed, open your File Explorer and enter %appdata% in the search bar. 
  3. From there, navigate to .minecraft/mods.
  4. Drop your mod JAR files into the mods folder (make sure they are also installed on your server).
  5. Run Minecraft Forge and enjoy your mods!
