How to Install Minecraft Forge Mods on Your Windows PC

For users running Forge/modded servers, it is important to remember that mods must be installed on both your server and your PC to connect successfully. This guide outlines how to install your chosen mods locally on your Windows PC.

Remember: Your mod version must match the version of Minecraft that you are playing on - otherwise, you will not be able to connect! If you're seeing error messages when you're trying to connect, please check this before reaching out to our support team!

How to Install Mods on Your PC

  1. Firstly, make sure that you have Forge installed both on your server and your PC.
  2. Once Forge has been installed, open your File Explorer and enter %appdata% in the search bar. 
  3. From there, navigate to .minecraft/mods.
  4. Drop your mod JAR files into the mods folder (make sure they are also installed on your server).
  5. Run Minecraft Forge and enjoy your mods!
