How to Customize Your Factorio Server Details

This article will show you how to customize your Factorio server details such as name, description, tags, max players, and game password.

  1. Navigate to your control panel.
  2. Access your server’s FTP by clicking on Files > FTP File Access, located on the left-hand side of your panel.
  3. Access your server directory using your Multicraft password.
  4. Navigate to the /data/ directory.
  5. Find server-settings.json, then on the right, click Edit.
  6. Change your server’s name, description, tags, max players, and game password to your liking.
    1. Admins can join full servers regardless of the max_players value. You can set max_players to 0 to allow unlimited players on your server.
    2. game_password assigns a password to your server that players must enter before joining.
  7. Save, then Restart your server.
