How to Enable Querying on Your Starbound Server

Querying is a useful tool that provides server information to the user. It shows data such as players online, map, and the server name. This information is beneficial for listing the server on public server lists.

Getting Your Server Ready

  1. Log in to your server control panel and Stop your server.
  2. Navigate to Files > FTP File Access.
  3. Open the /storage/ directory, then click Edit next to starbound_server.config.
  4. Find the field runQueryServer and change this from false to true.
  5. Ensure the queryServerPort field is the same as your server port.
  6. Press Save at the top of the page.

Testing Your Server Query Status

Once you’ve enabled querying on your server, you need to Start your server on the control panel.

Many users find the Source Query Tool useful for checking if querying has been enabled.
