If you own a Project Zomboid server, you may wish to fully reset your map to try a new update, install mods, or even just have a fresh start. Luckily, the process is relatively simple.
How to Reset a Default Project Zomboid Map
- Log in to your control panel and Stop your server.
- Access your server FTP. We recommend using FileZilla.
- Create a new directory called
DANGER_DELETE_ALL
. - Navigate to
/Zomboid/Saves/Multiplayer
and drag the world folder into theDANGER_DELETE_ALL
directory. - Return to your control panel and Restart your server.
The map has now been reset!
How to Reset a Modded Map to a Default Map
If you have a modded map installed but you’d like to revert back to a default one, the steps will slightly differ.
- Log in to your control panel and Stop your server.
- Navigate to Files > Config Files.
- Open world.ini.
- Locate the
WorkshopItems=
setting and remove the Workshop ID of the map you wish to delete. - Locate the
Mods=
andMap=
settings and remove the map name from the text. - Click Save and Restart your server.
Your server will now generate the default map on your server! If you’d like to install a map mod again in the future, you can do so by following our guide on How to Install Mods to Your Project Zomboid Server.
